As with most kids, I loved the thought of motorcycles! The only catch is we lived in a 3rd world country where the rules of the road were let’s say…optional. I have witnessed bus and truck drivers target motorcycles on the road and honestly speaking most motorcyclists would consider the law as… vague guidelines. I say that to say there was no way in hell my mother would allow me to have a motorcycle.

My dad had a dream for as long as I can remember to have a Harley and ride it through Saudi Arabia… something he was sadly never able to accomplish while he was alive. Though I always loved the thought of being able to do that together with him. It wasn’t until later in life that he had his first Harley, a 2007 Road King. It was a beautiful blue and silver and had a rich brown ostrich seat.

His path and my own diverted once I was out of high school and got married to my high school sweetheart. She and I moved to Daytona Beach, FL in 2006 and 2 years later I got my first bike a 2007 Yamaha V-Star 650. I ended up having to sell the bike after the recession hit in 2008 and it would be sometime before I got another scoot…but that fire had been ignited!!

Fast forward to 2020 and I bought a 2003 Yamaha V-Star 1100 it was plum and tan, I had that for only about 6 months and then I got my first Harley!! Enter Gunpowder…my 2008 Black Road King .. she is my pride and joy! We’ve put on about 30,000 miles together, I have cussed her out for leaving me stranded in the desert in TX in the summer and I have praised her for getting me through some difficult times in my life.
I have been in the wind with her and loved every mile.

I volunteer a lot of time for a biker organization that exists to empower abused children not to feel afraid of the world in which they live, and some of the brothers and sisters I have met have become some of the closest people in my life.

I have since learned to go bike camping, I’ve done several IBA rides and Scuba and I are getting ready to apply for the Hoka Hey in 2026. The long distance rides are something I am extremely passionate about. There is something about pushing your body and conquering the road. As men getting older we find less things that push us and challenge us. I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes from finishing these long rides, but most of all is the stories that I am accumulating from them!

I never got to ride scoots with my dad, but finally got some ink in memoriam of his passing. Now he gets to ride with me every where I go.
